CNYRIC Announces Hiring of New Assistant Director for Educational Information Services
January 17, 2025Syracuse, NY - The Central New York Regional Information Center (CNYRIC) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Assistant Director for Educational Information Services, Reneé A. Burgess, Ed.D. Reneé will assume her duties with the CNYRIC effective Feb. 24, 2025.
The Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES Board of Education approved Reneé’s appointment at the Jan. 16 board meeting.
Most recently, Reneé was the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Instruction for the Auburn Enlarged City School District. In that capacity, Reneé oversaw a variety of programs dedicated to improving instruction and focused on collaborative conversation around implementing diversity, equity and inclusion practices as part of the district’s strategic plan. She has also held a variety of roles in education throughout Maryland and the Central New York region, having served as a director, principal, vice principal, and teacher across nearly two decades in the field.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Reneé on board,” says CNYRIC Director Chantal Corbin. “The different roles she’s held throughout schools and administration have given her a wealth of experience that has made her well-suited for her newest position. We’re excited to see what innovative new ideas and initiatives she’ll bring to the CNYRIC and the districts we serve.”
Reneé will be overseeing the Educational Data Services, Test Scoring, and Print Services departments when she assumes her formal duties with the CNYRIC.
She holds a Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership (St. John Fisher University), a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership (Le Moyne College), a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision (Notre Dame of Maryland University), and a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education (State University of New York at Oswego).
“My leadership style is centered around integrity, respect, and collaboration - values I have demonstrated throughout my career in public education across two states,” states Reneé. “I am committed to building strong relationships with colleagues and districts, creating a culture of support and mutual respect.”
The CNYRIC is a division of OCM BOCES, which supports 23 component districts in the region. The CNYRIC also provides technology services and programs to 27 additional school districts and three other BOCES, including CiTi (Oswego), Cayuga-Onondaga and Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga. Services include educational data services, classroom and instructional applications, network security and operations, managed technical support, printing, financial services, and more.
